HULU SELANGOR, April 25 (Bernama) -- A total of 16,932 people or 26.25 per cent of the 63,701 voters in Hulu Selangor have cast their votes in the by-election as at 10am.
An Election Commission spokesman said voting was brisk and many voters turned out early due to the fine weather.
The number is expected to rise after noon because many of the voters are Felda settlers and smallholders who tend to their estates in the morning.
A total of 799 postal voters cast their votes on Thursday and Friday.
The by-election is a straight fight between MIC information chief P.Kamalanathan, 44, of the BN and former Kota Baharu MP Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, 59, of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
